Lunzer stepped on to the kickball field last night, but this time with a bat and a glove. Having trouble locating a quality sub (Fucking Vikes/Packers game) I put out the call for a warm body. All I asked is that he go 2 for 7 with no strike outs. He shattered my expectations. While smashing the ball into the deepest parts of the infield, you could take in what looked like a Usain Bolt race... slow motion replay as Lunzer (galloped? trotted? I believe someone refer to it as "watching a camel run"?) to first. 3 for 8 on the night.

Anyone can go 3 for 8 in D league softball? The man can play D too. On a botched fly ball to shallow outfield our short stop gunned the ball to Lunzer, at catcher, while the runner was just starting to round third. Lunzer snatched the ball out of the air as if it was the last beer in the cooler at a kickball game and with only 11 seconds to apply the tag DID NOT FUCK UP THE PLAY!

2 wins and 0 losses on the night as Lunzer filled in beautifully for the Defending D League Champions.

Let me throw it out there. Lunzer, next time the Vikings/Packers play on Monday night during fall softball and 2 of my best players decide to watch that instead of play softball and none of the guys on the team can find a sub... wait by the phone, wait by the phone.

We need to sign that guy up, you should have seen it, his speed was on full display as he hit a hot (weak) shot (dribbler) to the short stop looked like a for sure double play, however, with grit and determination he beat out the throw by a solid 5 (half) step(s).

To give you an idea as to how fast he was running, it took him another 100 feet to slow down. Well oiled machine I tell you.

You forgot to mention it was an errant throw to first that only a few (anyone in the world) could have turned into a double (had they not ended up in right field running through 1st).

He's a gamer, that's for sure!
