Just passing on the word for this charity event (direct from the organizers email to me)...

The event is a fundraiser for Special Olympics. I am very appreciative of your offer to help promote the event on you website. We are also hoping your organization or members of your organization can take part in the fundraiser.........a day of FUN at the Lakefront on Saturday, July 26th, at McKinley Park. The tournament is open to the first 64 teams that sign-up. The tournament is being co-hosted by Backyard Bocce, Inc. (www.backyardbocce.com) and the Italian Community Center of Milwaukee.

The tournament is open to people of all ages and skill levels. You need not know how to play Bocce. The only requirement is that you have an interest in coming out and having some FUN and supporting a worthy cause. The tournament will consist of 64, 4 person teams competing in 3 divisions (competitive, recreational, and unified). It is a single elimination tournament. The entry fee is $80 per team (or $20 per person). There will be free T-shirts for all participants and trophies awarded for 1st place in each division. In addition to the tournament, there will be food, beverages (including beer), entertainment provided by WJZI (93.3), and a raffle. Participants are encouraged to bring friends, family, and children…….it will be fun for all!
