What if the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament wanted to "expand" by inviting the Boston Celtics to play in the field of 64?

Would the Celtics lay waste to (blow out) 95% of the field? I would assume the answer is yes.

Would the upper schools (Florida, Kentucky, Memphis, Kansas, NC, Duke, etc.) get more competition? I would assume the answer is yes.

Would any school really appreciate a non-NCAA team coming into their tournament and winning the whole thing? I would assume the answer would be no.

What if Duke had gone to Boston earlier in the year beat the Celtics with their full squad?

what if these boston celtics were really just a good upper level school calling themselves the boston celtics. anybody remember that diamondball demo game we had at a eos? those were pros! sure we know this is a good team, but really is it worth putting them on this kind of pedastal?

if we are inviting teams of this caliper, shouldnt some seeding be considered. place got gas, superdudes, vandelay, and st loius in the 4 corners and then play with the ping pong balls.

I can possibly see the arguement that they should not be in the tournament, fine, but them getting a one seed, if we were to seed, is ridiculous.

It's too bad that Two-faced-ness wasn't listed next to dickheadedness when talking about things that aren't allowed...cuz there sure are a lot of you "Golden Age" guys that are well versed in that discipline.

I've got a hypothetical..

What if a team from Minnesota with a bid couldn't get an entire team to Milwaukee and had to pick up say... 11 or so subs? Would it be acceptable to have an entire team of subs?? Would it be acceptable if those subs happened to be from... Oh, I don't know.. St Louis??

Just throwin' that out there. Big Grin

I'll try and get the Sassmobile out there this time. Should maybe run the idea by Ranger and check on the "legality" of it..

Skist, from my understanding of the 13 pages of this thread, its ok to have whomever you want as a sub and as long as its a "MUSA team" that is in the tournament everyone's happy?

I'm finalizing our roster today and checking who I'll all be able to get to head out there and should have it pretty much figured out by the end of the day today.

Why in the heck would we give you guys this kind of special treatment?! That's good comedy.

Lets say the Togglers make it, I want the same treatment then. I only want to face percieved weaker teams all the way to the Final Four.

Why are any tournaments seeded then? Should the 2 best teams in the nfc this year play each other game 1 of the playoffs?

How do you seed teams from Madison, and the other teams that we don't see. Man I can't even imagine the bitch fist because some team isn't happy from Milwaukee because they can't understand why their 5-2 record is getting them a 12 seed.

What is with all these comparisons to real sports? Do any of you actually think you are real professional athletes based on MUSA kickball?

The NFL is a multi-billion dollar industry, MUSA is a local rec league.

It may be mildly impressive to win the GL up against some very good teams...but the operative word is "mildly".
